Amanda Owen Shares Heartbreaking Update After Historic Pens Vandalised

Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen has shared a heartbreaking update after historic sheep pens on the border between Cumbria and Yorkshire were vandalised. The mother-of-nine took to Instagram on Sunday to post a clip she said she would not normally share, expressing her anger and dismay.

In the video, Owen showed the damage caused by thieves who dug up and stole the stone flags from the floor of the pens. 'These places are invaluable, a part of our history and heritage,' she wrote. 'They do not formally belong to anyone but have been used for centuries by shepherds, farmers and commoners.'

Owen explained that the pens have stood for hundreds of years and are still in use by local farmers. She condemned the act as 'desecration' and said it 'absolutely stinks'. The theft is believed to have occurred in the middle of the night over the past few days.

Fans of the TV star flooded the comments with support, with many expressing outrage. One wrote: 'People just don't care anymore, they think they are entitled to do and take whatever they want. It really boils my blood!' Another said: 'Heartbreaking Amanda. Same thing happened to my husband... Low life thieves came during the night and stripped the back yard of the Yorkshire stone flags.'
