In an explosive season four finale of 'Yellowstone', Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) faces her final reckoning, delivering a tour de force performance as she settles scores and keeps a promise. The episode, titled 'Grass on the Streets', sees Beth emerging from the trauma of a bomb attack that left her scarred, and taking decisive action against those who wronged her family.
The episode opens with Beth packing to leave after a confrontation with her father, John Dutton (Kevin Costner), who is furious that she manipulated environmental activist Summer Higgins into a protest that led to a lengthy prison sentence. However, Rip (Cole Hauser) stops her by reminding her of a promise she made to him, and she stays. Beth then makes amends with her father and begins her campaign of vengeance.
Beth's day includes a tense encounter with Carter (Finn Little), the youth she took in, where she clarifies that she is not his mother. She also seeks advice from ranch hand Walker (Ryan Bingham) on arranging a conjugal visit, which she later uses to confront the head mercenary who orchestrated the attack on her family. The visit is unconsummated but serves as a psychological blow.
The finale also sees the death of a major character, following last week's killing of Sheriff Donnie Haskell (Hugh Dillon). The identity of the deceased is revealed at the episode's end, marking the second shocking gun death in two weeks. Beth also creates a powerful enemy in her soon-to-be ex-boss (Jacki Weaver) and gains the upper hand on her adopted brother Jamie (Wes Bentley).
The episode concludes with Beth and Rip's relationship solidified, as she keeps her promise to him. The season ends with John Dutton still fighting to hold onto his ranch, but with Beth now a more formidable ally than ever.
