Shameless actor Tina Malone has revealed that a ghost named William James McKenzie has been haunting her for over five decades. The 61-year-old, who recently celebrated 25 years of sobriety, confronted the spirit on the show Celebrity Help! My House Is Haunted, which is now streaming on discovery+.
Malone explained that she has been followed by the ghost across 12 different homes. She believes McKenzie was a wealthy merchant who died more than 100 years before she encountered him. 'I am quite open about my relationship with my ghost. People do think I’m mad, eccentric or a bit potty. I don’t care,' she said.
During the episode, paranormal experts Ian Lawman, Jayne Harris, and Barri Ghai used specialised equipment to communicate with the spirit. Malone took part in a scrying session, during which she claimed to see Harris transform into the ghost. 'Your forehead is, like, protruding and your eyebrows are really bushy. Oh my God, this is so weird!' she said through tears.
The team asked McKenzie if he had sold his soul to the devil, to which he appeared to confirm. Malone, who moved into a new home in Cheshire in an attempt to escape the haunting, hopes the confrontation will finally end the decades-long presence.
