Will Best reveals sweet reason behind baby Sonny's name

Will Best has shared the sweet reason behind his baby son's name during an appearance on today's edition of Lorraine (October 29). The Big Brother presenter and his fiancée Tobi welcomed their baby boy Sonny earlier this month, with his birth falling on a Sunday during Will's run on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing.

Asked how his young son was doing, Will admitted: "He's doing great, he's doing great and so is my amazing fiance."

Sunday Birth Inspired the Name

Lorraine replied: "I guess the worry was that the baby would arrive on the Saturday during the live show and you just have to go so he actually did very well."

Will then admitted: "He timed it better than my timing on the dance floor that's for sure. The guy's got rhythm. Yeah he came on a Sunday hence why we called him Sonny, one of them, we were thinking about that name anyway."

When asked if he was getting any sleep with work and becoming a dad, Will replied: "I'm getting enough sleep, my fiance is being incredible. you know I'm up, I'm up a bit. I'm changing nappies in the night and stuff.. oh yeah, he met Auntie Diane, he made his debut on the TV."

Juggling Strictly and Big Brother

As well as Strictly Come Dancing, Will also hosts Big Brother, appearing every Friday night for the live eviction alongside AJ Odudu. He opened up about how he is juggling his commitments as he told Lorraine: "We've got family and friends who are being amazing and I keep reminding myself I'm not the first person to have a baby and keep working."

"My idea of working hard with newborn baby is dancing around with Diane Buswell.... Strictly is something I've always wanted to do and Big Brother is like my favourite show and I've wanted to be a dad for as long as I can remember so it's a dream come true."

Upcoming Strictly and Big Brother Details

Will was also asked about his upcoming Strictly performance as he confessed: "Basically we are puppets." He later added: "We're throwing ourselves around and it's fun and it's a bit spooky."

Speaking about the upcoming eviction, Will stated: "From what I understand, it's going to be a triple dance off, three people in the dance off. That's the other drawback of the show. You have that moment where you think I could be going home and then if you're not, one of your mates is so it's sort of a lose lose."

Will also opened up on the explosive series of Big Brother, admitting it has been "amazing". He added: "It's been such a good series and the reaction from fans who have been watching it from the start have been loving it. It feels very old school."

He then joked Lorraine herself should do Strictly and Big Brother as the Scottish broadcaster replied: "No thank you." Lorraine airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
