Plot Overview
When a local boy is found dead after falling from a tower, Kya becomes the prime suspect. Shunned by the community, she survives by selling mussels to a local shop and learns to read with the help of her only friend, Tate. Years later, she begins a relationship with a popular local boy, only to discover he is engaged and has subjected her to violent acts. How amazing is that? And I had the best time, and I think it's a great film." She continued, "Art is so subjective, and you can't control how people respond. You can only do something with goodwill and to learn something from it yourself, I suppose. And then how people respond is because of their context and what they need."
