Wednesday Season 2: Bosses Hint at Unfinished Business with Tyler

Wednesday season 2 is just weeks away, and showrunners have teased that the titular character may have unfinished business with Tyler Galpin. The first season saw Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) uncover that Tyler (Hunter Doohan) was a Hyde, leading to his incarceration at Willow Hill Psychiatric Facility.

Executive producer Alfred Gough confirmed that Tyler will still be at Willow Hill in the new season, where he is being studied. 'You see that the facade of the nice boy, which dropped at the end of last year, is completely gone now. He’s a complete monster, not only physically but psychologically as well,' Gough said.

Co-showrunner Miles Millar hinted at a complex dynamic between Wednesday and Tyler, noting that Wednesday questions why she was attracted to him. 'For Wednesday, it’s always the question of why she was attracted to him. Is it this idea that she could only fall in love with a monster?' Millar said. He added that while there is no love triangle this season, 'that relationship is the closest she’s going to get to love.'

Millar described their interactions as a 'fascinating push-pull between her emotions,' with both characters playing mind games. Willow Hill will be a significant setting in season 2, playing into the mystery Wednesday uncovers. Wednesday season 2 premieres on Wednesday, August 6, on Netflix.
