Vanessa Kirby Embraces Sue Storm Role in Marvel's Fantastic Four

Vanessa Kirby has revealed that she had no hesitation in committing to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after being cast as Sue Storm, the Invisible Woman, in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. The film marks the official launch of Phase Six for Marvel Studios.

In a recent interview, Kirby explained that the character's journey as a pregnant new mother with superpowers deeply resonated with her. She said, 'When this one came around, I was so genuinely moved by the fact that this was a woman who was pregnant and was a new mother, and also has these superpowers.' The actress did not audition for the role but met with director Matt Shakman and Marvel chief Kevin Feige.

Kirby expressed excitement about exploring Sue Storm's complex history in the comics, including her transformation into the darker version Malice and her personal tragedies. She noted, 'She has a stillborn, and people don’t know that. She’s gone through a lot.' The actress also praised her co-stars Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, calling them 'family.'
