After four nights of gripping drama, ITV's 'Innocent' finally unveiled the killer's identity, leaving viewers stunned. The series, starring Lee Ingleby as David Collins, kept audiences guessing until the final moments.
Throughout the show, theories abounded on social media, with suspects including Alice Moffat (Hermione Norris) and Rob Moffat (Adrian Rawlins). Even David himself was suspected again as evidence mounted, before he was acquitted of all charges.
However, the prevailing theory centred on David's brother Phil Collins, played by Daniel Ryan. Viewers had latched onto hints about his distaste for the victim, Tara. In the final scene, David confronted Phil in his garage, where Phil confessed to the murder.
Phil revealed he was jealous of David and drove 500 miles to see his life crumble. When he made a move on Tara and was rejected, he flew into a blind rage, resulting in her death. He claimed he campaigned for David's release out of guilt.
