Leisa Gwenllian, who plays teenager Kath Bevan in the Sky drama Under Salt Marsh, is gaining attention as the series progresses. The show, set in a Welsh coastal town, follows detectives Jackie Ellis (Kelly Reilly) and Eric Bull (Rafe Spall) investigating a schoolboy's murder amid a catastrophic storm.
In a recent episode, Kath confessed to bullying Ellis's missing niece Nessa Taman alongside other local teenagers. The group warned Nessa not to reveal their actions, and she vanished shortly after.
Gwenllian is a rising Welsh actress and singer who graduated from the Oxford School of Drama in 2024. Her breakthrough role was in Rocket's Island (2014-2015), and she has since appeared in Welsh soap Rownd a Rownd, Itopia, film On the Sea, and the series Still Waters.
She is also an accomplished vocalist, having performed in the Welsh musical Te yn y Grug in 2019. Gwenllian and Fflur Davies placed third in the Cerdd Dant Duet under 21 category at the National Eisteddfod in 2016. Her vocal range includes choral, folk, and harmony styles, and she is proficient in clog dancing.
