Yellowstone star Kelly Reilly leads the cast of new Welsh crime drama Under Salt Marsh, which airs tonight on Sky with a double-bill episode. The six-part series is set in the fictional Welsh town of Morfa Halen.
The story begins when school teacher and former detective Jackie Ellis (Reilly) discovers the body of nine-year-old Cefin during an impending storm. His death sends shockwaves through the community and reopens a cold case that ended Jackie's policing career: the disappearance of her niece Nessa.
Jackie's former partner, Detective Eric Bull (Rafe Spall), returns to Morfa Halen to lead the investigation. As the storm threatens to destroy evidence, the pair must reconcile and uncover long-buried secrets before it's too late.
The ensemble cast includes Mark Stanley (Happy Valley), Dino Fetscher (Fool Me Once), Brian Gleeson (Bad Sisters), Naomi Yang (Nightsleeper), and Jonathan Pryce (Slow Horses, Game of Thrones). Reilly praised the cast, calling Pryce 'one of the greats' and noting the challenging winter filming conditions in North Wales.
Reilly described the series as 'a character study' exploring trauma and guilt. 'I hope it takes viewers on an emotional journey,' she said. The first two episodes are available tonight on Sky and NOW.
