Netflix fans are hooked on a new 'unsettling' three-part thriller, Two Graves, which has quickly become one of the most-watched titles on the streaming platform. Released on August 29, the limited series is currently sixth in the top 10 series in the UK and is expected to climb higher over the weekend.
The Spanish production stars Álvaro Morte, known for his roles in Money Heist and Wheel of Time, and was created by award-winning novelist Agustín Martínez. The series consists of just three episodes, making it easy to binge-watch in one evening or across a weekend.
According to Netflix's synopsis, Two Graves is set two years after the disappearance of 16-year-old friends Verónica and Marta. The investigation is closed due to lack of evidence, but Isabel (Kiti Mánver), the grandmother of one of the girls, decides to take matters into her own hands. Determined to uncover the truth, she embarks on a quest that soon turns into a story of revenge.
While Two Graves has not yet received enough critical reviews for a Rotten Tomatoes rating, early write-ups are positive. TIME describes it as 'a gripping and unsettling story in just three episodes.' Decider recommends it, praising Kiti Mánver's intense performance, though they wish it were a movie. Good Housekeeping calls it 'the Netflix crime drama you'll want to stay up all night for.'
Fans have also taken to social media to share their enthusiasm. One viewer rated it 8/10, saying, 'The suspense is killing, and it will keep you hooked till the very end.' Another called it 'the best series I've seen in a long time, completely addictive and with very good actors.' A third fan highlighted the performance of Álvaro Morte, describing the series as 'packed with suspense, drama, and twists you don't want to miss.'
