Officials have issued a reminder to viewers planning to watch the Celebrity Traitors final tonight (October 30), urging them to ensure they have a valid TV Licence. The final episode airs on BBC One at 8pm, with Team Traitor and Team Faithful competing for the win.
TV Licensing has taken to social media, with an advert appearing on users' For You Pages (FYP). The campaign targets UK residents who watch live TV or BBC iPlayer without a licence, using an image of Claudia Winkleman and the Scottish castle from the show.
Licence Costs and Coverage
UK residents must pay £180 per year for a colour TV Licence or £60.50 for a black-and-white set, following a price increase on April 1, 2026. A licence covers all TV channels, pay TV services, live TV on streaming platforms, and everything on BBC iPlayer.
TV Licensing notes that the licence applies to all devices, not just a television. The organisation states: "If you're catching up on BBC iPlayer on your phone as you commute to work, you need a licence. Streaming a live YouTube channel via your game console? You need a licence. Getting stuck into Sky Sports action live on your laptop or tablet? You need a licence for this, too. This includes recording and downloading."
Penalties for Unlicensed Viewing
Watching, recording, or downloading TV programmes without a licence could lead to prosecution. If found guilty, viewers could face a fine of up to £1,000, plus legal costs and compensation ordered by the court. The maximum fine in Guernsey is £2,000.
Final Episode Details
The finale has been extended to 80 minutes, longer than its usual hour-long slot. Two Traitors remain: TV presenter Maya Jama and YouTube star King Kenny. Five Faithful players are left: pop star Leigh-Anne Pinnock, singer James Blunt, actor Michael Sheen, actor Sebastian Croft, and comedian Romesh Ranganathan.
