Celebrity Traitors viewers are divided after traitors Maya Jama and Kenny murdered Michael Sheen in the final episode, with some labelling the risky move as "idiotic". The BBC competition is now down to its final seven contestants, all hoping to secure a share of the prize money for charity.
After weeks of secret alliances, calculated murders and tense Round Table showdowns, the remaining players are preparing for the ultimate test of trust. When 21 well-known faces first arrived at the Scottish castle, none knew quite how difficult it would be to distinguish friend from foe.
Final Episode Takes Dramatic Turn
The road to Friday's showdown took another dramatic turn in Thursday's episode, which saw Joanne McNally voted out before Sharon Rooney was also eliminated. But it was James Acaster's unexpected decision to reveal his secret role that became the biggest talking point of the night.
The comedian had come under increasing scrutiny from Michael Sheen, who had started investigating his behaviour during the murder of Ross Kemp. Sheen noticed that James had been the only contestant to stay in the library during the murder in plain sight, prompting him to question whether his fellow player was hiding something much bigger.
Traitors Make Their Riskiest Move
On Friday night, traitor Maya Jama made her riskiest move yet as her and Kenny decided to murder Michael - who was the only one suspecting Maya was a traitor. After discovering his fate on the BBC reality gameshow, Sheen said: "The time has come, can't say I'm surprised, but I am incredibly disappointed, gutted that I got so close to the end.
"It's been absolutely unforgettable, and I've loved every minute." Kenny said he opted for Sheen as he was "too authoritative on that table" but Jama worried it may turn the heat on her.
Viewers React to the Murder
The move has left viewers of the BBC series divided, with some concerned that the final will now be missing something. On X, @honey_baye wrote: "These traitors are actually idiots. Why go for Michael? It's SO OBVIOUS".
@karistbh added: "it is the right decision to murder michael for a traitors win…….but maya literally just said it looks like they've pinned it on her so why wouldn't they think it was her?" as @chxcolatchadx penned: "Sorry but Micheal HAD to go . He was on my girl Maya too much".
