Celebrity Traitors viewers have voiced concerns that contestant Sharon has "checked out" of the game, just hours before the series finale. The second series of the BBC show concludes this Friday, October 30, with the final episode airing at 8pm on BBC One.
The series began earlier this month with 21 celebrities competing to win £100,000 for their chosen charity. In last Friday's episode, Traitors Maya Jama, James Acaster and King Kenny continued to evade suspicion, and the roundtable ended on a cliffhanger as Sharon and Joanne faced potential banishment.
Viewers react to Sharon's roundtable plea
During the roundtable, Michael Sheen told Sharon: "You're like a different person." Sharon replied: "That's fine." She later added: "I've actually been working quite hard just to get my confidence up to speak at the table, but if yous want to vote for me that's absolutely fine. I will stand up there and say I'm Faithful but I totally get it."
When pleading her case, she said: "I have nothing else to say. I'm Faithful, I've been Faithful this whole game. I mean I come here and I sit and I say as many theories as I can, I tell you everything I know about the game. I've never hid anything, I've played an open game. I share everything I know. I only did what I did today at the challenge because I wasn't thinking about trying to be a Traitor, or trying to stay in the game or get a special prize. I love Joanna as well, do whatever you want it's a game and I'm happy I've been here as long as I have."
Fans share their worries on social media
On X, one viewer wrote: "Has Sharon checked out of the game?? She looks drained and basically said they can kill her if they want." Another commented: "I feel for her. She was quiet when it started probably cos there were a lot of loud voices. Now she's found confidence to speak up about her theories but the faithfuls can't recognise it as that she figured a perfume bottle was used & brought up Maya today too and yet shot down."
A third stated: "Yes I think she wants out too. James Blunt and Michael Sheen have really knocked he for six. They were ridiculous. How has she changed? They just kept saying that without giving any specifics." Another added: "She realises the only way her voice might be heard is if they banish her and realise she really has always been a faithful."
Final episode details
A fifth viewer wrote: "It's so sad. She has only just found her voice and is being criticised for it. Maya is thought of as faithful because she's pretty and quiet. Very stereotyped." One person echoed: "She was definitely defeated they came to the conclusion she was a traitor when all she was doing was trying her best as a faithful. Wee shame", as another replied: "I guess she realised once big personalities like blunt & sheen suspected her she had no chance."
The final episode of Celebrity Traitors airs tonight, October 29, at 8pm on BBC One.
