Freddie Bentley has broken his silence over his exit from TOWIE, disputing claims made by former friend Ella Rae Wise about a conversation they had after he left the show. The reality star took to Instagram to clarify what was said during a meeting at an event, following Ella's appearance on the official TOWIE podcast.
On the podcast, Ella claimed that she and Freddie had a 'nice conversation' where she advised him not to let others make him feel he needed to quit. She also said she brought up the ongoing dispute over Freddie allegedly making negative remarks about co-star Saffron Lempriere, which Freddie has consistently denied.
However, Freddie has now released a statement on his Instagram story, insisting that Ella's version of events is inaccurate. 'Not once did Ella mention Saffron's name or the situation. It was me who brought it up and Ella brushed it over, which resulted in Ella apologising to me,' he wrote.
The feud between the former best friends began during last year's Christmas special and escalated during the cast's trip to Vietnam for series 37. Freddie maintains that he has never 'slagged off' Saffron, while Ella insists he did. The pair have not reconciled, despite Freddie's attempt to draw a line under the matter for his 'peace of mind'.
Filming for series 38 of TOWIE began on Tuesday, and fans are hoping the new episodes will shed light on the ongoing drama. Freddie's exit from the show remains a source of tension among the cast.
