Dashcam footage has revealed the moment a driver narrowly avoided a serious collision on a wet highway in New Zealand. The incident occurred on a road known for dangerous conditions, Smeatons Hill, between Auckland and Whangarei.
The video shows a grey Ford Falcon losing control on the slippery road, spinning into the path of the dashcam driver. The driver skillfully dodged both the out-of-control car and the vehicle it struck, avoiding a potentially fatal crash.
The driver, who was on his way to work, said he decided not to overtake the car in front due to poor weather and road conditions. He noted that the area has a history of serious accidents, which influenced his cautious driving.
Both drivers involved in the crash were trapped and badly injured, requiring rescue by emergency services. However, they have since recovered, according to the dashcam driver who witnessed the incident.
