The Stolen Girl: ITV Debuts Gripping Psychological Thriller

The Stolen Girl, a psychological thriller adapted from Alex Dahl's novel Playdate, premieres on ITV tonight, Wednesday, February 25, at 9pm. The series, which originally aired on Disney+, follows the abduction of nine-year-old Lucia after her mother Elisa allows her to have a sleepover at a new friend's house.

The cast includes Denise Gough as Elisa Blix, Holliday Grainger as Rebecca, Jim Sturgess as Fred Blix, Ambika Mod as journalist Selma Desai, Bronagh Waugh as DI Shona Sinclair, and Layo-Christina Akinlude as DS Lizzie Walker. Gough is known for roles in Andor and Who Is Erin Carter?, while Grainger is recognised from Strike and The Capture.

The plot begins when Lucia meets Josie at school and asks to stay over. After meeting Josie's mother Rebecca and seeing their home, Elisa agrees. However, when she and her husband Fred arrive to collect Lucia the next morning, the family has vanished, with a cleaner telling them no one lives there. The investigation uncovers buried secrets as Elisa desperately searches for her daughter.

Viewers can expect a tense narrative that questions whether Rebecca's actions are justified as more details emerge. The series has been described as 'binge-worthy' and promises to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
