Thomas Skinner, best known for his appearance on The Apprentice in 2019, has been confirmed as the tenth celebrity contestant for the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing. The BBC One show returns in September with a new lineup of famous faces.
Skinner, 34, from Romford, has built a career as a market trader and now runs several small businesses. He also gained a large online following for his motivational videos, often filmed over his unconventional breakfasts. He teased his Strictly involvement on social media before the official announcement on Hits Radio.
Speaking about joining the show, Skinner said: 'I'm beyond excited. I've tackled the boardroom and some big breakfasts, but stepping onto the dance floor under that glitter ball is next level! I've never danced in my life, but I'm ready to graft and have a laugh. Bring on the sequins, sambas and BOSH to the ballroom!'
Skinner recently made headlines after meeting US Vice-President JD Vance for a barbecue and drinks, describing it as a 'once in a lifetime' experience. He also faced criticism for social media posts about the UK and London, claiming he received 'death threats' and 'vile comments about my children'. Vance responded with a message of support.
Skinner joins a diverse cast including George Clarke, La Voix, Chris Robshaw, Ellie Goldstein, Dani Dyer-Bowen, Balvinder Sopal, Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, Alex Kingston, and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. Goldstein will be the first contestant with Down's syndrome to take part in a full series.
