Channel 4 Weather Blunder Leaves Viewers Baffled as Wrong Take Aired

Channel 4 viewers were left confused and concerned on Wednesday night after a weather forecast descended into chaos when meteorologist Liam Dutton suddenly stopped mid-report to complain about a studio door being opened. The segment, which was meant to be a pre-recorded forecast, instead aired a take where Dutton addressed the interruption live on air.

Dutton began his forecast normally, saying: 'There will be a few patches of freezing fog for Wales, the Midlands and East Anglia. But a cold night with widespread frost, temperatures below freezing and a risk of a few...' However, he then gave an icy look to the camera and said: 'Somebody has just opened the door...' before producers quickly cut the report.

Concerned viewers took to social media, with one writing: 'For crying out loud! Don't Open The Door when @LiamDutton is doing the @Channel4News Weather! What did I just see????' Another said: 'Just watched on +1 and was convinced you were being kidnapped. So glad you're grand.' Dutton later tweeted to reassure fans, explaining that the wrong take of the pre-recorded weather had been aired, and he uploaded the correct version.

This is not the first weather blunder this year. In April, BBC Breakfast viewers were left confused when Carol Kirkwood presented the weather forecast standing in front of a map of Spain while discussing UK weather. She said: 'Good morning it's a cold and frosty start to the day for many of us today. But a fair bit of sunshine away from the north and west where we've got thicker cloud and some rain.'
