The BBC has crowned The Wire as the greatest TV show of the 21st century, according to a poll of 206 TV experts from 43 countries. David Simon's crime drama topped the list, followed by Mad Men in second place and Breaking Bad in third.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge's Fleabag and Game of Thrones secured fourth and fifth positions, respectively. The list of 100 shows includes 79 created by men, 11 by women, and 10 by mixed-gender teams. Only four animated shows made the cut, with BoJack Horseman ranking highest.
Several currently airing series feature, such as Succession, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and The Crown. Limited series like I May Destroy You, Watchmen, Chernobyl, and Twin Peaks: The Return also appear. Damon Lindelof had three shows on the list: Lost, The Leftovers, and Watchmen.
Social media users noted omissions including Boardwalk Empire, The Deuce, and Gavin & Stacey.
