Fans of The Testaments, the spin-off of The Handmaid's Tale, believe they have spotted a hidden love triangle in the new series. The drama, currently airing on Disney Plus, follows a new generation of women in the oppressive Gilead regime.
Viewers have noted that protagonist Agnes MacKenzie (Chase Infiniti) appears to have a crush on her guardian Garth (Brad Alexander), with the pair exchanging longing glances. However, fans are also convinced that Agnes's best friend Becka (Mattea Conforti) harbours romantic feelings for her.
Social media users have pointed to clues in episode four, where Becka's intense stares at Agnes during a dancing practice scene suggest more than friendship. One viewer wrote on X: 'So Becka has the hots for Agnes and Agnes has the hots for Garth?' Another added: 'So we agree Becka is in love with Agnes?'
Becka's earlier declaration that she 'doesn't want a husband' has also fuelled speculation that her character may be a lesbian, unable to act on her feelings in the strict Gilead society. Fans will have to watch future episodes to see if the love triangle develops.
