Sky will stop broadcasting The Simpsons from November 1, 2026, ending a 36-year partnership between the show and the channel in the UK. The change follows a December 2024 deal that made Disney Plus the home of new episodes.
End of a 36-Year Partnership
According to pop culture blogger Wesley Mead, Sky will no longer broadcast The Simpsons from November 1, 2026. The final episode scheduled on Sky One is Treehouse of Horror XV, set to air on Saturday, October 31, at 6 pm. From Sunday, November 1, the show disappears from the schedule and is missing from Sky's programming for the next two weeks.
Mead believes this is a permanent change, noting that the show has not taken a break like this since the early 1990s. There has been no official word from Sky on whether The Simpsons has been permanently pulled from schedules.
Disney Plus Deal Impact
The move is not a huge surprise for those tracking TV broadcasting rights. In December 2024, Disney announced that new Simpsons episodes would premiere exclusively on Disney Plus before airing on E4 afterwards.
Despite not having access to new episodes, Sky retained the right to show older episodes. 'Sky One's repeats have continued in earnest throughout 2025 and 2026,' Mead noted, adding that Sky One was the only place showing seasons 34 and 35 on TV as they predated the E4 deal.
Schedule Replacement
Sky has filled the schedule gap with episodes of Animal Control, Best Medicine, and Superstore. Metro has contacted Sky for comment.
