Netflix has confirmed that the upcoming fifth season of legal drama ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ will be its last. The streamer announced the conclusion of the series, which is currently in production on its final 10-episode run.
Series creator and co-showrunner Ted Humphrey and fellow co-showrunner Dailyn Rodriguez said in a joint statement: “All good things must come to an end, but thankfully sometimes how they come to an end is up to us. From the very beginning, the mission was always not only to tell the story of Mickey Haller and his compatriots, but also to give that story a proper conclusion.”
The fifth season will be based on Michael Connelly’s novel ‘Resurrection Walk’. The plot sees Mickey Haller’s world upended when his half-sister Emi (Cobie Smulders) asks him to help free a wrongfully convicted woman. As he takes on a habeas petition, he uncovers a web of corruption and lies while grappling with family secrets.
Netflix also announced six new recurring guest stars for the final season: Amy Aquino as Judge Olivia Alcott, Angela Trimbur as Felicia, Elpidia Carillo as Muriel Perez, Nate Corddry as Jimmy Finch, Tricia Helfer as Brooke Miller, and Keir O’Donnell as DDA Lucas Peralta. They join previously announced guest stars including Chris Diamantopoulos, Corbin Bernsen, and Diane Guerrero.
David E. Kelley created the series for television and serves as executive producer. Humphrey developed the show and executive produces alongside Rodriguez, Connelly, Ross Fineman, Barry Jossen, Tana Jamieson, and Matthew J Lieberman. A+E Studios produces.
