The Girlfriend filming locations: Prime Video thriller shot in London, Spain and Wales

The highly anticipated thriller 'The Girlfriend' is set to premiere on Prime Video on September 10, and fans are buzzing after the release of its trailer. Starring Olivia Cooke and Robin Wright, the series follows Laura, a wife and mother whose seemingly perfect life is disrupted when her son brings home a new girlfriend, sparking suspicion and paranoia.

The series was filmed across two countries: Britain and Spain. Laura's family home is located in upmarket St John's Wood, London. Supervising Location Manager Ben Mangham described the property as a 'very, very beautiful home' with four floors, five bedrooms, and a basement swimming pool. The house was undergoing refurbishment and was available for the entire summer, a rare find for the production team.

Other key British filming locations include Syon House, a gallery in Soho, and a quarry near Chepstow on the Welsh-English border. The Spanish scenes were shot in Málaga city, Ronda, and Marbella. Location Manager Irene Manrique Matin praised Marbella's old town, where a market scene was recreated in one of its most beautiful squares.

The production also used Villa Tramores in Benahavís, an exclusive village in Marbella. The villa is owned by a family related to Princess Diana, who reportedly stayed there many times. The property includes a heliport and extensive natural grounds, where the cast spent nearly four weeks filming.
