The Chase's Shaun Wallace 'Deeply Touched' by Fan Support During Liverpool Visit

Shaun Wallace, known as 'The Dark Destroyer' on ITV's The Chase, has expressed his gratitude for the warm reception he received during a recent visit to Liverpool. The 63-year-old quiz expert attended the National Diversity Awards at the city's Anglican Cathedral, where he praised the event for celebrating community champions.

Wallace, who is a regular visitor to Liverpool, shared his admiration for the city's cultural diversity and its iconic music scene. 'As a young kid, I used to love The Beatles. Liverpool and The Beatles will be forever intertwined,' he told the Liverpool Echo.

The Chaser also revealed a family rift caused by football loyalties: his brother is a Liverpool FC fan, while Wallace supports Chelsea. Despite the rivalry, he said he loves the city and visits often.

Wallace described the Anglican Cathedral as 'beautiful' and said he was honoured to use his fame altruistically by supporting events like the National Diversity Awards. 'I don't see myself as a celebrity, but I'm in the public eye and I think it's important I use my fame in an altruistic way,' he added.
