ITV has released a first look at its upcoming spin-off series, The Chase Around the World, promising an 'epic' global adventure for the beloved quiz show. The new format will see six pairs of contestants tasked with locating all six Chasers hidden in various international locations.
New Format and Gameplay
Unlike the original studio-based quiz, The Chase Around the World requires contestants to use general knowledge, observational skills, and puzzle-solving abilities to find the Chasers. Pairs must navigate landmarks and culturally significant sites, solving puzzles and riddles along the way. The last pair to arrive at each destination must face the Chasers to remain in the competition.
Final Destination and Prize
The remaining contestants will compete in a final showdown for a life-altering prize, facing off against the Chasers. The series is hosted by Bradley Walsh, who said in an ITV Instagram video: 'The Chase is going global. Six chasers, six pairs of contestants and one epic chase. Because in this game, the more you know, the further you go. If you want to star in the game, you're going to have to take on the best in the world.'
Locations and Teasers
The first-look clip shows contestants in various locations, including Rome and Brazil, with one woman speeding on a boat and others running up steps. A segment shows players using a virtual tablet to confirm correct answers, granting access to the next part of the game. The clip ends with Chasers Jenny 'The Vixen' Ryan and Mark 'The Beast' Labbett standing in front of the Sagrada Família in Barcelona.
Fan Reactions and Quotes
Fans have expressed excitement on social media. One commented: 'Can't wait to see it.' Another wrote: 'This is gonna be a lot of fun!' A third added: 'This looks like it's going to be good.' Bradley Walsh also said: 'This bold new take on The Chase combines quizzing with travelling and will test contestants' knowledge like never before. The Chasers are already famous around the world, so fans can look forward to seeing them ply their trade in some superb secret locations.'
An air date for The Chase Around the World has not yet been announced.
