Fans of The Boys are only just discovering that Valorie Curry, who plays Firecracker, had a role in Twilight. The final episode of Prime Video's gritty superhero drama aired this week, delivering a blood-soaked and emotionally charged conclusion. Set in an alternate modern America where superheroes reign supreme as mega-celebrities, the series exposes the dark reality of how they exploit their abilities behind the scenes.
The corrupt corporation Vought typically sweeps their misdeeds under the rug, but cracks begin to show when the world's most powerful superhero, Homelander (Antony Starr), grows increasingly unhinged and power-mad. Spoiler alert for Season 5 ahead.
Firecracker made her debut in Season 4 as an online conspiracy theorist who worms her way into Homelander's inner circle. Initially a devoted follower, she begins to struggle in Season 5 when Homelander declares himself God, forcing her to renounce her deeply held Christian faith to remain loyal.
Her storyline reaches a brutal conclusion in the final season when Homelander decides to dispose of her after discovering her affair with his father, Soldier Boy. In a final, desperate bid to win him over by stroking his ego and proclaiming her love and devotion, he savagely impales her head on a spike, reports Wales Online.
The 40-year-old star is already well-known to many for her turn as Kara in video game Detroit: Become Human, but what many don't realise is that she also featured in Twilight: Breaking Dawn - Part 2. In the 2012 film, the fifth instalment of the Twilight Saga, Valorie Curry plays Charlotte, a nomadic vampire with red eyes. The part was relatively small and came early in her career, before she went on to land more prominent roles in projects such as Blair Witch, The Tick and The Boys.
Fans of the actress were left stunned upon discovering her appearance in the franchise. "Just found out that Valorie Curry is in Twilight Saga," wrote one surprised follower, while another added: "I was shocked when I rewatched it recently and saw her." A third commented: "I did not know that she was in The Twilight Saga," as another penned: "She's also Kara in Detroit: Become Human. I didn't even notice." The Boys Seasons 1 to 5 are available to stream now on Prime Video.
