Prime Video has released the first trailer for Vought Rising, the upcoming prequel to The Boys, set in the 1950s. The series explores the origins of Vought International, the company behind Compound V, and centres on Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) and Stormfront (Aya Cash) in a murder-mystery storyline.
The teaser opens with Soldier Boy offering to help defend his country: 'I wanna fight for the flag. I wanna be a hero.' It then shows other Supes, including Clara Vought (Stormfront), Private Angel, Bombsight, and Torpedo, amid early experimentation, gunfire, and blood splatters.
Stormfront tells Soldier Boy: 'There is a brighter future... All we need to do is take it.' The cast also includes Mason Dye, Will Hochman, KiKi Layne, Jorden Myrie, Nicolo Pasetti, Elizabeth Posey, Ricky Staffieri, and Brian J Smith. Cash and Ackles serve as executive producers alongside showrunner Eric Kripke and Paul Grellong.
Fans have expressed mixed reactions online, with some excited for the 1950s setting and others concerned about the tone. The series was announced in 2024, with Kripke and Grellong describing it as 'a twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought' and promising a 'salacious, grisly saga drenched in blood and Compound V.'
Vought Rising is expected to premiere on Prime Video next year.
