Final Season of The Bear Premieres This Week
The critically acclaimed FX series The Bear is set to conclude with its fifth and final season, which will be released on Disney+ this Friday, June 26. The eight-episode season will be available to stream in its entirety from 8am BST in the UK, following a midnight PT/3am ET release in the US.
What Happened in Season 4?
The fourth season ended with a dramatic twist: head chef Carmen 'Carmy' Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White) announced he was leaving the restaurant and transferring his share to sous-chef Sydney Adamu (Ayo Edebiri), his cousin Richard 'Richie' Jerimovich (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), and his sister Natalie 'Sugar' Berzatto (Abby Elliott). The remaining team is now scrambling to secure a Michelin star without Carmy.
Plot of the Final Season
According to the official synopsis, the final season picks up the morning after Carmy's departure. With no money, the threat of a sale, and a torrential storm, the new partners must band together to achieve one last service, hoping to finally earn a Michelin star. The synopsis adds: "Ultimately, they learn that what makes a restaurant 'perfect' might not be the food, but the people."
Cast and Cameos
Returning cast members include Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Matty Matheson, alongside guest stars Ricky Staffieri, Oliver Platt, Will Poulter, and Jamie Lee Curtis. Previous seasons featured cameos from John Cena, Brie Larson, John Mulaney, and Bob Odenkirk. Disney+ recently released a surprise hour-long flashback episode titled "Gary," featuring Richie and Jon Bernthal as Carmy's late brother Mikey.
