The 1% Club Viewers Fume Over Impossible Final Question

Fans of ITV's The 1% Club expressed frustration after Saturday's final question was branded 'dodgy' and 'nonsensical'. The show, hosted by comedian Lee Mack, pits 100 contestants against increasingly difficult puzzles, with the final 1% challenge offering a top prize of up to £100,000.

During the January 31 episode, contestant Amena reached the final round and won £10,000, but chose to gamble it for the jackpot. The decisive question featured three books side by side, asking: 'What is the distance in centimetres between the first page of volume one and the last page of volume three?'

Amena answered 14.9cm, but the correct answer was 7cm. Lee explained: 'When stored upright, the first page of a book is on the right, and the last page is on the left, so you only need to measure the pages of one book and four covers.'

Viewers took to social media to complain. One wrote: 'That was a bloody dodgy last question #The1PercentClub.' Another said: 'That 1% Q makes no sense whatsoever.' A third added: 'This is a classic trick question!'

Some challenged the answer, with one suggesting '5.2 cm' and another asking 'why isn’t it 17?' The show continues to divide audiences with its mind-bending puzzles.
