The 1% Club returned this evening for a kids' special featuring contestants aged nine to 15. A brain-bending maths question left several players stumped during the latter half of the game.
The show follows 100 people whose numbers are gradually whittled down as they aim to answer 15 logic-inspired questions. Beginning with a question that 90% of respondents answered correctly, the difficulty increases each round, leading to a final question that only 1% are likely to get right.
The tricky question read: 'On Hannah's 6th birthday, she went to a theme park. She really wanted to ride this rollercoaster but she was only one metre tall. Every year, Hannah gets five centimetres taller. How old will she be when she becomes able to ride the rollercoaster?' Imagery indicated riders must be at least 140cm tall or 12 years old.
Host Lee Mack revealed the answer was 12, as Hannah would reach the minimum height at that age. Five players used their pass to skip the question, but it still eliminated five contestants. Five players made it to the final round and won a trip to Disneyland Paris, with the winners also receiving a two-week break to Florida.
