Apple TV+ has officially confirmed that the hit comedy series Ted Lasso will return for a fourth season, with creator and star Jason Sudeikis on board. The new season is set to premiere on August 5, 2025, as revealed by star Hannah Waddingham.
The cast includes returning favourites such as Hannah Waddingham as Rebecca Welton, Brett Goldstein as Roy Kent, Juno Temple as Keeley Jones, Jeremy Swift as Leslie Higgins, and Brendan Hunt as Coach Beard. Phil Dunster, who plays Jamie Tartt, will not return due to a scheduling conflict with a new HBO comedy series titled Rooster, which is also produced by Bill Lawrence.
Season 4 will pick up where Season 3 left off, with Ted Lasso returning to Kansas before heading back to the UK. According to Sudeikis, the season's theme is 'leap before they look', as the AFC Richmond team discovers that wherever they land is exactly where they are meant to be. The story will also see Ted coaching a Division 2 women's soccer team.
Bill Lawrence has confirmed that Sudeikis has planned a new three-season arc for this iteration of the show. The teaser trailer, set to Mumford & Sons' 'Rubber Band Man', hints at new developments for the characters. The role of Ted's son Henry will be recast.
