Taskmaster has edited a controversial challenge from its latest episode after viewers complained to Ofcom. The second episode of the new series, hosted by Greg Davies and Alex Horne, featured a task where contestants had to identify objects using their senses. Comedians Maisie Adam and Reece Shearsmith chose taste, requiring them to put a frozen sock and wet human teeth in their mouths, alongside yoghurt.
Viewers took to social media to express their horror, with one calling it 'one of the most disgusting things I've ever seen on #Taskmaster'. Another said the challenge was 'the most disturbing thing I’ve ever seen'. The backlash prompted Channel 4 to edit the segment before the episode was repeated.
This is not the first time Taskmaster has faced criticism over its challenges. In June, an episode titled 'Glass Half Most' featured a contestant eating yoghurt in a degrading manner, dressed only in boxer shorts and licking yoghurt off Alex Horne's shoes while pretending to cry.
Channel 4 has not commented on the edits, but the move follows a pattern of the network responding to viewer complaints about the show's content.
