ITV Viewers Spot Taskmaster Twins on New Show The Neighbourhood
Taskmaster Twins Spotted on ITV's The Neighbourhood

ITV's brand new competition series The Neighbourhood has only just begun, but viewers have already spotted a familiar pair among the contestants. The show, hosted by the beloved presenter Graham Norton, features six real families from across the United Kingdom as they relocate to a tight-knit village for a chance to win a substantial prize of £250,000.

Format and Challenges

The families must build alliances and maintain good relationships with their neighbours to avoid elimination. The only way to secure safety is by earning immunity through a series of demanding challenges. In the very first episode, the contestants faced a gruelling task where they were suspended seven metres in the air on a moving washing line. Relying solely on their initial impressions, they had to answer questions about their fellow neighbours and identify who each question referred to.

Familiar Faces

However, it wasn't long before viewers became distracted by twins Lyndsey and Louise, who had previously appeared on Channel 4's Taskmaster. Social media platform X, formerly Twitter, was abuzz with comments from fans who recognised the duo. One viewer wrote: "Swear those twins on #TheNeighbourhood were on Taskmaster once." Another added: "Me clocking the twins from Taskmaster #TheNeighbourhood." A third commented: "I know that I watch too much tv when I immediately recognised the twins from Taskmaster #theneighbourhood." Yet another remarked: "The Thompson Twins from @taskmaster are on that new #theneighbourhood programme."

Background of the Twins

Hailing from Liverpool, the 25-year-old sisters boast over 90,000 followers on TikTok and an additional 20,000 on Instagram. They previously featured on Taskmaster Series 20, Episode 3 last year. The twins are participating in the new ITV1 series alongside Lyndsey's girlfriend Rosie, who is 28 years old. They are competing against several other families: The Bradons, The Kandolas & Samra, The Lozman Sturrocks, The Pescuds, and The Uni Boys.

First Elimination Looms

Despite only being the first day of the competition, the families have already voted for the neighbour they wish to see leave the village. Viewers will discover which family gets eliminated in Saturday night's episode, airing on April 25.

Graham Norton's Thoughts

Speaking before the series premiered, Graham Norton shared his thoughts on hosting the show: "One of the loveliest things about the show is seeing households who would never meet in real life, not only meeting but forming proper bonds of friendship. There are a few moments in the show that really do bring a tear to my eye because it's just so genuine, so lovely and properly heartwarming."

The Neighbourhood is available to stream now on ITVX.
