A Tartan Army member has shared his ideas for improving Boston with Scottish touches, following the World Cup journey that made Glasgow and Boston sister cities. Taking to Instagram, user @giodoesinterviews listed four changes he believes would enhance the American city.
Morning Rolls and Public Transport
Giovanni's first suggestion was morning rolls, which he described as better than bacon, egg, and cheese. He also advocated for improved public transport, noting that Boston's reliance on taxis was a downside. "I think I saw like two buses in my whole time," he said.
Water Fountains and Chippies
He proposed adding free water fountains like those in Glasgow, especially useful in Boston's heat. His final, most passionate suggestion was for proper chippies, as he found no good fish and chips in Boston, criticizing a Cheesecake Factory version as "stinking."
Local Reactions
Bostonians responded by defending their city's subway system, which they said surpasses Glasgow's. Others invited Giovanni to return for better local cuisine, with one commenter noting, "Locals don't eat at Cheesecake." Another suggested that Boston would be improved by "more Scottish people."
