Tammy Hembrow has set the record straight following swirling rumours that she is set to appear on the US reality show The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. The Australian influencer, 32, raised eyebrows back in April when she was spotted partying with Mormon Wives star Chase McWhorter and his ex-wife Miranda Hope at Coachella.
Chase even shared a TikTok video of the trio, adding the cheeky caption: 'This is the best day of my entire life.' The display promptly sparked speculation that Tammy could be set to make a cameo on the popular show. However, when quizzed during an interview with 2DayFM Breakfast's Nath & Emma, Tammy was quick to shut the chatter down.
'No, I'm not!' Tammy replied when asked whether she would appear on the next season. 'For sure? Like, no cameras rolling while you were at the event?' Emma Chow pressed, as co-presenter Nath pried, 'Not even in the background?' 'No, no,' Tammy insisted. 'I just bumped into Chase and Miranda at Coachella, and it had been a running joke on TikTok of him commenting on everything. So, it was so funny that we finally met, and yeah, they're all really nice,' she clarified.
Tammy did, however, confirm that she is a fan of the show. It comes weeks after Tammy publicly threw her support behind Mormon Wives star Taylor Frankie Paul amid the American reality star's domestic violence scandal, which led to her season of The Bachelorette US being cancelled just prior to its premiere.
In a vulnerable Instagram post last month, Paul described the last 40 days of her life as 'hell on earth', and confirmed she was leaning on her religion during this difficult time. The mother-of-three later shared an Instagram Story confirming that while she was 'born and raised Mormon (LDS)' and she would 'always have love and respect toward it', it was time to 'detach' herself from the Mormon church.
Tammy, who is no stranger to public scrutiny surrounding her own relationships, commented on the first post: 'Sending so much love mama'. Tammy subsequently received some backlash from critics questioning why she would support someone accused of domestic violence. Tammy previously denounced 'violence in any form' in a TikTok last May after her half-brother Henri Thynne was incarcerated for 17 charges relating to domestic violence offences.
In the video, Tammy denied claims she had bailed Henri out of prison, clarifying that she had no involvement in her brother's legal issues. 'I'm not involved in any of the legal situation. I've no contact with my brother. I haven't seen my brother. I'm just... I'm not involved at all, in no way. So I wanted to make that clear,' she said.
She went on to add: 'Another thing I wanted to make clear is that I don't condone violence in any form. I don't condone abusive behaviour. I just, I don't think it's okay, period.' Paul was seen attacking her ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen, 33, with her minor daughter present in an article TMZ published March 19. The jarring clip led The American Broadcasting Company (ABC) to abruptly cancel Paul's season of The Bachelorette US on the verge of its premiere, though she was paid in full.
