Susanna Reid is taking a two-week break from Good Morning Britain, with Kate Garraway stepping in as host. The 55-year-old presenter announced her absence on Instagram, posting a photo from the studio and thanking viewers for their support.
Reid, who has co-hosted the ITV programme since 2014, wrote: 'LOVE IT! I am just hopping off for my Easter break - back @gmb on Monday, April 13.' She added that the show had seen increases in viewers and share of viewing year on year.
Her final appearance before the break was on Wednesday, March 25, alongside Ed Balls. Since then, Kate Garraway has been filling in, co-hosting with Rob Rinder, Ranvir Singh, and most recently Paul Brand on Monday, March 30.
During Monday's broadcast, Garraway mistakenly referred to the time as 'just gone six o'clock', but Brand corrected her, noting it was actually seven. Garraway apologised, saying she had 'a head full of frog spawn'. Brand reassured her that the teleprompter had displayed the wrong time.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV from 6am.
