Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid has addressed viewer criticism that the programme's revamped studio appears 'cramped' following its move to a new location. The ITV breakfast show returned on Monday (January 5) with a refreshed look, as part of a scheduling overhaul announced in May 2025 that extended GMB by half an hour and shortened Lorraine by 30 minutes.
Production has relocated from ITV's studios to ITN's headquarters in Central London, with other daytime programmes now recorded at The H Club in Covent Garden. The redesigned set places hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls in closer proximity to guests, including Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch.
Viewers took to X to criticise the new look, with one commenting: 'ITV cuts showing in the new set. So small, looks cheap and people sitting on top of each other.' Another said: 'The problem with the smaller studio is when there are four people at the desk, everyone leans outwards when speaking... it looks like we are constantly looking at human leaning towers.'
However, Susanna appeared unbothered, posting on X: '@gmb studio = big headlines! More than happy to be closer to our brilliant guests...' The move resulted in at least 220 job losses as part of cost-cutting measures. The final episode from the old studio aired on New Year's Eve, with the team bidding an emotional farewell.
