Strictly Come Dancing's Shaun Wright-Phillips was the fourth star to be eliminated from the competition on Sunday night. After landing in the bottom two, he emotionally told his professional partner Alexis "thank you" as he paid tribute to her.
Dance-Off Defeat
Shaun and Alexis faced actress Jaime Winstone and her partner Carlos Gu in the dance-off. They reprised their routines, with Shaun and Alexis dancing their Jive to Faith by Stevie Wonder featuring Ariana Grande, while Jaime and Carlos performed their Foxtrot to Man I Need by Olivia Dean.
Judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton du Beke chose to save Jaime and Carlos, making Shaun and Alexis the latest pairing to leave despite head judge Shirley Ballas opting to save them.
Judges' Criticism
Shaun's Saturday night performance had been branded a "disaster" by Craig Revel Horwood after he slipped up during the routine. The judge said: "From the moment you started dancing, the timing was completely out, the kicks were sloppy, there was no retraction. There was no saving it, I’m afraid."
Anton du Beke agreed, saying: "It must be something in the water tonight. We had a lovely Jive, but you weren’t doing the same one together at the same time."
Leaderboard and Next Week
Olympian Tabby Stoecker topped the leaderboard with her Couples Choice performance to Stupid Song by Olivia Rodrigo, scoring 37 out of 40, including two tens. Delta Goodrem, returning after missing last week's live show with a broken rib, received 34 for her Rumba to I'd Do Anything for Love by Celine Dion.
Next week's Halloween results show will feature Strictly's first-ever triple dance-off, with the three couples with the lowest combined judges' scores and public votes dancing again to avoid elimination.
