Strictly's Nikita Kuzmin Asked If He Was 'Cancelled' After Host's Joke
Strictly's Nikita Kuzmin 'Cancelled' Joke on It Takes Two

Strictly Come Dancing professional Nikita Kuzmin was left asking if he had been "cancelled" during an appearance on the BBC spin-off show It Takes Two, after host Ellie Taylor picked him up on a comment.

Ellie Taylor returned on Thursday, November 5 with another edition of It Takes Two featuring several stars, including Dani Dyer and professional dancer Nikita. During their conversation, Ellie asked Dani whether she had a preference for Latin or ballroom dancing.

Nikita's Comment Sparks Host's Reaction

Turning to Nikita, Dani said: "I love them both really. You always say I'm good at ballroom." He responded: "It's so comfy to dance ballroom with you. It's so comfy when the partner just sits in her pocket. You can just drive and move."

But a surprised Ellie interjected: "You can't say that about women these days Nikita!" As Nikita looked on open-mouthed she added: "I'm joking, I'm joking." Nikita then looked directly into the camera and asked: "Did I just get cancelled?"

Ballroom Context and Partnership

Ellie continued: "In the context of ballroom dancing you're absolutely fine!" Nikita joked: "Ballroom dance pocket, not whatever pocket you're talking about!"

"So she really knows how to hold her frame?" Ellie added as she attempted to steer the conversation forwards. To which Nikita replied: "She does!"

It marks the second year that Dani and Nikita have been partnered together, after she was forced to withdraw from Strictly before the first live shows last year due to injury.

After landing in the bottom two following the judges' scores in Icons Week when they secured 25 points, they were spared from the feared dance-off when the public vote was included.

Recent Scores and Elimination

Last weekend's Halloween programme saw them attain their best score to date - 32 out of 40 - when they captivated the judges with their Viennese Waltz to My Favourite Things from The Sound of Music.

But it was Emmerdale star Lawrence Robb and professional partner Jowita Przystał who ended up being sent home in a three-way dance-off after struggling to deliver with their Ghostbusters-themed tango.

Lawrence joined Bethany Antonia and Jaime Winstone as the three celebrities in the dance-off which saw the judges voting to eliminate rather than save someone.

As he reflected on his Strictly experience on It Takes Two last Monday, presenter Ellie said: "Lawrence, I can see you getting emotional now. What has meant the most to you?".

Looking at Jowita, he said: "I think number one is meeting an incredible person, and this girl here. The sense of family, the love and the joy that it brings every week, the people, and the journey. "The idea of not knowing how to do any ballroom and Latin dancing at all, and then learning it in, what, three and a half days, and then performing it to millions of people is just, it's just wild."

"And also, I think that this should apply to any of the couples still in it, and past couples as well. That doing Strictly is... Well, you've already won."You've got the achievement of doing Strictly. You've been on Strictly, and then anything on top of that is, you know, icing cherry on top of the cake."

Strictly Come Dancing is on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
