Strictly Come Dancing professional Nadiya Bychkova has shared a video of herself dancing in a bikini while on holiday, following reports that she has been dropped from the upcoming series along with three other dancers. The Ukrainian dancer posted the clip on Instagram, showing her moving gracefully by a pool wearing a black and white patterned bikini top and matching black trousers, holding a white flute glass.
In the caption, Nadiya celebrated International Women's Day, writing: 'Celebrating women today and every day. The strength, the joy, the resilience and the beautiful way we lift each other up. And sometimes… a little dance along the way. Happy International Women’s Day.' The video quickly attracted compliments, with one follower asking if the rumour about her Strictly axing was true.
Reports suggest that Nadiya, along with fellow professionals Gorka Marquez, Luba Mushtuk and Michelle Tsiakkas, have been told they will not return as full-time dancers for the next series. BBC bosses are reportedly determined to overhaul the show following recent scandals and the departure of hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.
Speaking to the Mirror at the TV Choice awards last month, Nadiya expressed hope of returning, saying: 'I hope so, who knows, we’ll get the call later in the year.' However, a source told The Sun that the news came as a huge shock and that Nadiya is 'distraught', adding: 'No one was expecting producers to chop so many professionals.'
