The 30-year-old performer, who joined the series in 2022, described feeling as though her "world was falling apart" and her "dream was shattered" upon receiving the news.
A Dream Abruptly Ended
In a candid interview, Tsiakkas revealed the depth of her heartbreak, stating she was not provided with a specific reason for her departure from the show. "It felt out of the blue. It was very tough. I was heartbroken," she confessed. "I went through so many emotions. I gave my life to Strictly." She emphasised her total commitment, having dedicated four years to the programme, which she described as her "whole life."

The lack of clarity surrounding the decision made the situation particularly difficult to accept. "I wasn't given a reason as to why I was being dropped, which made it harder to digest," Tsiakkas explained. She was informed that producers were moving "in a different direction" and seeking "new faces to freshen it up." "I do wonder if they want to change so much because of the scandals in the past," she mused. One such incident involved her 2024 celebrity partner, Jamie Borthwick, who was later dropped from EastEnders after using a discriminatory slur during his time on Strictly. Borthwick subsequently issued a sincere and wholehearted apology for his remarks.
Tsiakkas was clear that she did not believe she was being penalised for Borthwick's actions, stating, "The pros have no power over the celebs." However, the association with past scandals adds a layer of context to the broader overhaul of the professional roster.
