Strictly Stars Face Axe Unless They Improve Fast
Strictly Stars Face Axe Unless They Improve Fast

Three Strictly Come Dancing stars are at risk of elimination unless they make significant improvements, according to a new verdict on the show's recent episodes. The assessment comes after two weeks away, during which the series appears to have regained some of its appeal.

Hosts Show Signs of Improvement

Josh Widdicombe has shown noticeable progress over the last two weeks, according to the review. While he still appears nervous, he is no longer staring at the camera as if looking down the barrel of a gun. His jokes remain somewhat weak, but his timing has improved, and he and Emma seem more comfortable with each other.

Johannes has also grown in confidence, managing to keep control of the pro dancers in the auditorium, a task described as akin to herding toddlers in a creche. Despite a few slip-ups, he appeared far more at ease with keeping things on track. The review notes that Johannes has the rapport and presence to quiet the dancers, which was sorely needed based on viewer comments about last week.

Standout Performances and Disappointments

Delta made a comeback after being ruled out last week with a broken rib, securing the first 10 of the series with a dramatic Rumba. Tabby Stoecker was the star of the night, paying tribute to her late father during her Couples Choice with Mark.

However, Will and Dianne had a difficult night, with a misstep in the middle of their performance that was impossible to miss. Despite this, they scored 31, which the review called a mystery. Lawrence Robb also made a big mistake and struggled to recover, receiving only 19 in total, which seemed particularly harsh in comparison.

Pro Dancers Under Scrutiny

Maddie is in trouble unless she makes a swift improvement, as this is the second week her choreography has been called out. Neil's role is also under question, with the review suggesting bosses need to decide whether he gets a partner next year or leaves.

The presenters are being judged almost as much as the celebrities, and the review gives Emma, Josh, and Johannes a score of six for the week, noting there is still room for improvement.
