Dame Sarah Storey could not hide her fury at being eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing, with a body language expert describing her reaction as showing "anger".
The Paralympian and her professional partner Julian Caillon faced House of the Dragon star Bethany Antonia and her pro partner Nancy Xu in the dance-off, forcing both couples to perform their Icons Week routines again.
Sarah and Julian danced their Tango to That Don't Impress Me Much by Shania Twain, before Bethany and Nancy performed their Cha Cha to Respect by Aretha Franklin. All four judges opted to save the actress and send the champion road track racing cyclist home.
Expert Analysis of Reaction
Analysing the athlete's reaction to the news, body language expert Inbaal Honigman observed: "Dame Sarah Storey tries to hide her unhappiness at having to leave the competition, but her cross smile gives her away.
"Even though her high cheekbones give her smile the appearance of authenticity, it is likely just Dame Sarah's fabulous bone structure, and not unbridled joy.
"Other facial features which would indicate a genuine smile are absent. Upturned lips, for example, and raised eyebrows are nowhere to be found.
"Dame Sarah's eyes are not squeezed shut with her smile. This is not a genuine show of happiness. A real smile touches all parts of the face, while here we have stretched, parted lips as if posing for a school photo.
"In fact, Storey's clamped teeth are almost aggressive. She may even be annoyed to have not found more success on the show."
Thinly Veiled Anger
Speaking on behalf of Covers.com, she continued: "Predators tend to show their teeth like this, as a warning, before they attack, so Dame Sarah's facial expression may be a thinly veiled show of anger.
"She absolutely does not feel that her departure is justified and when she places her hand down on her leg, this is a disappointed show of acceptance."
Following her performance on Saturday night, the star was shown a special video message from Shania Twain herself, who invited Sarah to show her moves off next time she plays the UK.
Leaderboard and Audience Icons
The couple received 21 points for their efforts, putting them at the bottom of the leaderboard while dance-off rivals Bethany and Nancy ended the night with 27 points.
Cach Mercer and partner Maddie Ingoldsby and Jaime Winstone and pro Carlos Gu jointly topped Saturday night's leaderboard with 34 points each.
While the contestants all adopted an idol's persona for the latest edition of the BBC show, viewers were left thrilled after spotting a trio of real life "icons" seated in the audience.
Comedy legend Paul Chuckle was seated beside actors Ray Winstone and Danny Dyer. Ray and Danny were there supporting their daughters, Jaime and Dani, who are taking part in the show this year.
Ray even gamely took part in a skit with hosts Emma Willis and Josh Widdicombe as they teased him about a video message the previous week, in which he referred to Jaime's partner Carlos Gu as "Carlo". Josh said he was going to have it out with him and set him straight as an amused Emma told him to go for it. However, after one look from the TV and film hard man Josh quickly changed his mind.
