Strictly Come Dancing producers have reportedly intensified efforts to identify the source of persistent leaks, after a spoiler account was unable to reveal this weekend's results. The account, which regularly posts the outcome of the dance-off before the Sunday broadcast, told followers on X that its mole had been silenced.
“I’ve no mole this week and other reliable sources seem to be struggling too,” the account wrote. It added that a spoiler might still emerge, but not until the morning. The update prompted frustration among fans, with one commenting: “I wish you'd posted this earlier so I didn't stay up.”
The BBC launched an investigation last month after the show's pairings were leaked ahead of the pre-recorded launch. A source told the Daily Mail: “Enough is enough, it isn't fair on the fans… Now procedures are being put in place to see if the mole can be caught.” The insider acknowledged the challenge due to the large number of people involved, but said bosses were determined.
Strictly is filmed entirely on Saturday evenings, with the results show produced as if it were recorded the following day. Hosts and judges change outfits and refer to “last night,” but because the results are taped immediately after the live show, an insider has been able to leak them. Audience members, comprising contestants' friends and family as well as the public, have their phones removed during filming.
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturdays on BBC One, with the results show airing on Sundays.
