Delta Goodrem was left in tears after receiving a heartfelt message from Strictly Come Dancing presenters during this weekend's Icons Week special, which she watched from home following her withdrawal due to injury.
The Australian singer and actress was forced to pull out of the show after sustaining a rib injury during rehearsals with her partner Kai Widdrington. She watched the programme from home and later shared her emotional response on Instagram.
Presenters send love to Delta
As the show opened, presenters Emma Willis, Johannes Radebe, and Josh Widdicombe acknowledged Delta's absence. Emma told audiences that, following medical advice, Delta would not be performing but had been granted a pass, meaning she could return to dancing next week if her injury allows.
Johannes then addressed Delta directly, saying: "Delta my darling I know you'll be watching so I just want to say we are all sending you so much love." As the former professional dancer spoke, Delta became visibly tearful, according to Wales Online.
In her Instagram response, she blew a kiss towards the presenters and captioned the footage: 'Thanks team. It's been a rough week.' She also said: "I love you too."
Delta's recovery update
Earlier, the former Neighbours star had shared a message updating her followers on her recovery. She said: "Hello everybody! I just wanted to say hello before Strictly starts, I've got my little seat ready and I've been recovering."
She added: "I promise I'll share more over the next couple of days, it takes a while to get into a positive mindset when you have a setback and you just need to be able to process it and work out what the body is saying and how we continue to move through this but in the meantime I'm very excited to see the amazing talented class of 2026."
Delta concluded: "I'm so exited to watch them do their iconic performances tonight. I'm sorry I'm not there for this one but I'm giving it everything I've got to be there next week."
Judges pay tribute to icons
As Icons Week began, audiences were left "crying" within minutes as the judges made their entrance dressed as their chosen icons. Shirley Ballas channelled Lady Gaga and Motsi Mabuse embodied Beyoncé, but it was Craig Revel Horwood and Anton Du Beke who stole the spotlight, wearing bucket hats, dark glasses and parkas in tribute to Oasis stars Liam and Noel Gallagher.
Fans took to X, formerly Twitter, to share their reactions. One wrote: "Anton and Craig. My god! Who'd have thought it. Liam and Noel Gallagher on #Strictly." Another said: "Craig and Anton dressed as the Gallagher brothers is killing me #strictly." A third commented: "CACKLING at craig and anton as oasis." Another added: "CRAIG AND ANTON AS LIAM AND NOEL GALLAGHER? ! I am absolutely crying." A fifth shared: "Nearly spat my drink out when I saw Craig and anton come on out there."
Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
