Strictly Come Dancing viewers were left utterly gobsmacked by an 'iconic' moment in the most recent episode. The BBC contest returned on Sunday night (October 18) to unveil the eagerly awaited Icons Week results.
The previous evening's show saw the celebrities embodying legendary musicians during their performances, paying homage to greats such as Elton John, Aretha Franklin and David Bowie.
Judges and Pros Pay Tribute
Even the judges joined in the tribute to their favourite icons, with Shirley Ballas sporting a Lady Gaga outfit, while Motsi Mabuse turned up in her finest Beyonce attire. Meanwhile, Craig Revel Horwood and Anton Du Beke appeared as Oasis stars Liam and Noel Gallagher, sparking a flurry of online conversation.
Tonight, it was the turn of the professional dancers to steal the limelight as they morphed into various eras of Madonna for a routine honouring the Queen of Pop, reports Wales Online.
Fans React to the Pro Dance
Viewers at home were all saying the same thing after the pros showcased their talents in the ballroom. They took to social media to laud the "iconic" choreography, with others rejoicing that the pros have returned to kick off the results show.
Posting on X, formerly Twitter, one enthusiast said: "Finally giving the people what they want. Back to professional dancers opening result show," with another concurring: "The pro dance first, we dreamed of moments like this."
Another fan exclaimed: "MADONNA PRO DANCE WAS INSAAAAANNEEEE," while a third viewer declared: "Possibly the best pro number ever #Strictly."
A fourth joined in, stating: "If you need me I'll be rewatching the Madonna dance again #strictly," while another enthusiast was quick to remark: "I have so much respect for the professional dancers what they do is inspiring."
Tribute to Dolly Parton
The evening also featured a touching homage to late country icon Dolly Parton, who passed away in August at the age of 80, following a fight with cancer.
Singer Belles, whose real name is Kelli Rachel Jones, performed a rendition of the popular song Jolene in tribute to Dolly. Belles was one of the final artists to work with Dolly prior to her tragic passing. The pair collaborated on Belles' track Son of Jolene, which was released earlier in April.
