Strictly Come Dancing viewers said their hearts were in their mouths when beads appeared to fall from Dianne Buswell's dress during the opening moments of the latest show, with some fearing a serious accident.
The incident happened during Will Best's Quickstep with his professional partner Dianne Buswell, the first performance of the night. The pair danced to a version of This Love, originally by US band Maroon 5, and scored 29 from judges Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke, Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse.
Beads fall during routine
During a crucial moment of the routine, viewers spotted that beads or pearls appeared to fall from Dianne's dress. Host and comedian Josh Widdicombe acknowledged the incident, much to Dianne's surprise.
The presenter told her: "You're a showman now. You didn't even mention the pearls fell from your dress, you were essentially dancing on ball bearings during that second half! You could have fallen over at any moment! Get off that dangerous floor and get your scores."
After they received their score, Johannes told them: "You left your pearls on the floor girl." Will immediately joked: "Should I go get them?"
Fans react online
Viewers watching at home were quick to notice the moment. One took to social media and posted: "The timing with the pearls flying off made me think someone's tooth had come out for a second."
Another added: "My heart was in my mouth when the pearls fell. I had visions of a nasty accident." Someone else said: "Did Dianne's dress just explode everywhere?"
Jaime Winstone withdraws
Meanwhile, actress Jaime Winstone was forced to withdraw from the show this week with a torn abdominal muscle. As per the competition rules, Jaime and her professional partner Carlos Gu received a bye through to next week, when it is hoped she will be able to return to action.
The remaining contestants returned to the dancefloor following last week's Halloween special, which also saw the very first three-way dance-off. Dani Dyer and Graeme Hall were among those hoping to impress the judges.
Strictly Come Dancing continues on Sunday with the results show at 7.10pm on BBC One and streaming on iPlayer.
