Strictly Come Dancing viewers were delighted as Sunday night's results show opened with a professional dance routine for the first time this series, a change many called a return to the show's roots.
The moment came during week four's results, following Saturday's Icons Week, where celebrities took on the personas of music legends including Adele, David Bowie, Raye and ABBA. The judges appeared to enjoy the theme, with the scoreboard particularly impressive.
Fans React to Opening Routine

Changes and Highlights This Week
This year has brought several changes to the show, including new professional dancers and three new presenters, and the results night format had also been altered. The return of the pro dance opening marked a nostalgic moment for long-time fans.
On Saturday (October 17), Lawrence Robb, Will Best, Tabby Stoecker and Cach Mercer sat comfortably high on the leaderboard. Delta Goodrem could not perform this week after doctors advised rest due to a rib injury, but it is hoped she will return next week.
Delta said in a statement released on Monday (October 12): "I'm absolutely gutted that a rib injury means I won't be able to dance on Strictly this week. I've been loving every second of this experience, so having to sit this one out is heartbreaking – especially after the high of Saturday night. I cannot tell you how much I love being a part of this magical show."
She added that she would focus on rest and recovery, hoping to "be back on that dancefloor very soon," and thanked fans for "all the love and support," saying: "I'll be cheering everyone on from the sidelines this week!"
The results show saw another couple bid farewell, as the professional dance opening set the tone for the evening's eliminations.
