Gladiators Stars Dazzle at TV Choice Awards After Injury-Plagued Year

Gladiators stars Livi Sheldon and Ella-Mae Rayner swapped their lycra for glamorous gowns at the TV Choice Awards on Monday night, looking almost unrecognisable from their sporty on-screen personas. The ceremony, held at The London Hilton on Park Lane, was hosted by comedian Jason Manford.

Livi Sheldon, 31, known as Diamond on the show, wore a strapless black dress with leather boots, while Ella-Mae Rayner, known as Comet, opted for a high-neck grey dress with silver heels. Both stars posed confidently for photographers.

The TV Choice Awards feature 18 categories, with long-running favourites such as Call The Midwife and I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! among the nominees. In the reality TV category, Dragons' Den, The Traitors and Race Across The World are also competing.

Last year, Gladiators faced chaos after four athletes were injured during filming for the new series. Livi Sheldon suffered a full ACL and MCL rupture, while other stars including Legend, Bionic and Athena also sustained injuries. Despite this, the BBC reboot has been a huge hit since its return in January 2024, with a third series set to air in 2026.
